We’re always on. We are proud to be members of associations such as the MN Electrical Association, North Central Electrical League, and the SD Electrical Council. Safety is our priority with our employees. In fact, we received the Minnesota Electrical Association's annual award for "Excellence In Safety" numerous times through the years for companies with 25 or more employees.
History When Don Welling started Fulda Electric in 1971, it was on a shoestring budget. “I had a few materials and a little office space in the old plumbing shop. I started basically all by myself,” Welling recalled. In the beginning, much of the work Fulda Electric did was for farmers and residential customers. By 1976, the company began doing more commercial work and employed seven people. In 1986, Fulda Electric was licensed to do electrical work in the state of South Dakota, and by 1992, the company had enough commercial work to need another place to store equipment and supplies. That year, Fulda Electric purchased some land from the Brandon Development Corp. and built a warehouse there. Eventually they had enough business to open an office in Brandon. At the time, five of Don’s children worked for him: Daughter Pat Loosbrock was estimator / office supervisor; daughter Susan Goertz was bookkeeper and sons Brian, Don Jr., and David were electricians with the company. In 2005, Brian was able to realize his lifelong goal and purchased the business from his father. The main office for Fulda Electric is now in Brandon, SD and the Fulda office remains open today. Over the years, Fulda Electric has earned the respect of business and homeowners alike, thanks in part to their emphasis on quality work, responsiveness and strong relationships. Fulda Electric now looks to the future with a positive outlook of growth and prosperity. |
